I want to let you in on a little secret. If we are struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, stress, depression etc. -- there is nothing wrong with us. There is nothing that needs to be fixed. We do not need to be fixed. Hanging onto this belief that we "are less than" because we are struggling will keep us small and fearful.
Accepting ourselves for who we are -- struggles and all is an important part of finding methods and creating tools to lessen the struggle itself.
Think of it this way. If you’re in a boat with a hole in it, you have a choice: sit in the boat while it slowly fills with water because, well, it is broken; it’s better to wait for a professional boat repair guy to come to fix it or perhaps maybe wait for the perfect boat to come by and jump into that one (which we all know, perfection doesn’t exist!) OR you decide to fix your boat. Start with what you do know - bail the water. Then look for help learning what’s best to plug the hole. Then seek knowledge on how to do a better repair once things have dried up a bit. Then, you’ll have the skill set to fix and repair your boat anytime a new leak happens -- because we all know it will happen! The sea is full of danger, risks, struggles, and so much unknown beneath the surface. The sea, however, is also beautiful, peaceful, exciting, and an amazing adventure.
